TL;DR

Technical Editor: Implementing and maintaining editorial policies and standards for complex technical documentation with an accent on clarity, accuracy, and adherence to government specifications. Focus on collaborating with subject matter experts to rewrite and refine technical reports, software documentation, and program deliverables for diverse audiences.

Location: Remote (USA only). Must be able to obtain and maintain required customer clearance.

Salary: $39–$40 per hour.

What you will do

• Ensure documents are well-structured, concise, and adhere to industry and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with researchers and subject matter experts to gather information for document creation.
• Rewrite technical text into a clear, concise style for various audiences.
• Review and edit documents for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to guidelines.
• Proofread and authenticate technical data for program deliverables and courseware.
• Coordinate with instructional design teams to resolve stylistic issues.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain customer clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in technical writing of software documentation.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
