TL;DR
Compliance & Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace): Supporting certification of safety-critical avionics systems with an accent on DO-178C, DO-254, SQA audits, and quality assurance planning. Focus on preparing certification artifacts, maintaining evidence packages, tracking compliance gaps, and coordinating configuration management and customer audits.

Location: Remote within the United States; office address in East Hartford, Connecticut. U.S. citizenship is required, and dual citizenship must be disclosed.

What you will do

  • Support DO-178C and DO-254 certification activities across multiple programs, from SOI-1 through SOI-4.
  • Prepare, review, and refine certification artifacts, including PSAC/PHAC, SDP/HDP, SVP/HVP, and SCMP/CMP.
  • Develop, review, and accept SQAP/HPAP quality assurance plans.
  • Perform SQA audits, compliance checks, and gap tracking between planned processes and execution.
  • Maintain certification evidence packages, review comments, deliverables, baselines, and change-control records.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, customers, DERs, and certification specialists on audits, traceability, and certification execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in software, systems, electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • 3–8 years of experience in software engineering, software quality, or systems engineering.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and documentation practices.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and independent working skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering and program teams and work directly with customers.
  • U.S. citizenship required; dual citizenship must be disclosed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SQA and certification in aerospace or avionics.
  • Interest in developing toward certification liaison, safety, or cybersecurity responsibilities.
