Senior Associate, BESS Modeling & Structuring (Energy): Developing quantitative models for BESS valuation, structured products pricing, and power market analysis with an accent on BESS dispatch optimization and quantitative modeling platforms. Location: Hybrid; must be based near one of the US offices (San Francisco, San Diego, Scottsdale, Houston, Denver, or Princeton).
Salary: $115,000 – $177,000 USD

is a leading clean energy company managing a massive portfolio of wind, solar, and battery energy storage assets across the US.
What you will do
- Develop and deploy complex optimization models for BESS dispatch, renewables, and gas generation projects.
- Build Stochastic and ML/DL models to forecast DA, Ancillary, and RT prices to inform trading activities.
- Maintain pricing models for gas dispatch and structured products, performing mark-to-market analysis and credit analytics.
- Enhance the internal quantitative modeling platform (CWENQuant), including data pipelines and automated workflows.
- Analyze trading forwards against historical power prices and fundamentals to define risk and origination strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Quantitative modeling experience in the energy sector (3+ years for Senior Associate, <3 years for Associate).
- Proficiency in Python (must), SQL, and R.
- Experience with ML/DL frameworks such as scikit-learn, Keras, or TensorFlow.
- Knowledge of linear/Mixed Integer programming and tools like PuLP, Gurobi, or CPlex.
- Clearway will not sponsor non-immigrant visas (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).
