What you will do

• Own the end-to-end mechanical design of new wearable bands and accessories from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to create user-centric, durable solutions.
• Manage detailed CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for prototyping and production.
• Drive second sourcing initiatives to diversify the supply base and mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement design improvements for quality and performance.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation at global manufacturing sites.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in consumer electronics, wearables, or soft goods.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, tolerance analysis, and mechanical drawing.
• Experience with soft goods integration, injection molding, sheet metal, and materials like silicones and textiles.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Boston, MA.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 20% to work with manufacturing partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with offshore manufacturing partners.
• Knowledge of human factors engineering or sports/fitness accessories.
• Familiarity with FEA tools, rapid prototyping, and environmental testing.
