Salary: 220,000–250,000 CAD

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Architect distributed systems supporting high-volume transactional and event-driven workloads.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and operational readiness across production systems.
• Partner with Data and ML teams to integrate AI-powered capabilities into customer workflows.
• Lead technical design reviews and contribute to long-term platform architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Rust, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Must be based in or able to work from Toronto, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Experience leading platform modernization or large-scale architecture initiatives.
• Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into production systems.
• Experience with relational databases and distributed caching technologies.
