What you will do

• Own end-to-end grinding and polishing processes, including parameter optimization and consumable selection.
• Establish robust process control systems to ensure removal rate stability and consistent quality.
• Lead structured root cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate sources of variation and improve First Pass Yield (FPY).
• Manage the qualification of new materials, slurry chemistries, and machine upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, metrology, and equipment engineering.
• Maintain process specifications and standard work documentation to ensure repeatable performance.

Requirements

• Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Optical, Materials, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in optical fabrication, precision machining, grinding, or polishing.
• Proficiency with statistical software such as JMP or Minitab.
• Strong experience with metrology tools including interferometry and profilometry.
