What you will do

• Act as the design authority, providing technical leadership for a team of engineers.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to installation and sea trials.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor team members to ensure project delivery within time, budget, and quality specifications.
• Ensure clear communication of responsibilities and provide direction on technical decisions.
• Promote design best practices and contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Newcastle upon Tyne.
• Extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
• In-depth knowledge of designing and manufacturing offshore equipment such as trenchers, LARS, or cable/pipe lay systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD) and analysis tools (Ansys, Staad Pro).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, support, and provide technical guidance.
• Analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
