What you will do

• Act as the Designated Individual for Temporary Works (BS 5975) for gas infrastructure projects.
• Lead and mentor a design team delivering solutions for high, intermediate, and medium pressure pipelines.
• Manage and approve engineering solutions for AGIs, compressor stations, and pipeline diversions.
• Perform structural assessments using steel, timber, and polymer systems, including Finite Element Analysis.
• Produce and review 2D/3D design models using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Drive value engineering and innovation to support the transition to hydrogen-ready gas networks.

Requirements

• MEng/MSc in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design delivery from first principles.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Familiarity with National Grid, Cadent, SGN, and NGN specifications.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage design governance.
