What you will do

• Produce detailed mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment systems, including pumping stations and pipework.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and bills of materials.
• Perform design calculations such as pump head, flow/pressure sizing, and structural loadings.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations, WIMES, and relevant ISO/BS standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, civil/electrical engineers, and external suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site surveys, asset assessments, and feasibility studies to support project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience designing mechanical systems within the water, wastewater, or process industry.
• Proficiency with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of pumps, valves, hydraulic systems, and mechanical plant equipment.
• Ability to produce accurate engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Must be able to work onsite in Havant, UK.

Nice to have

• Chartered status or working towards CEng/IEng with IMechE.
• Experience with BIM software such as Revit or Plant 3D.
• Knowledge of WIMES specifications and DWI standards.
• Industry safety certifications like CSCS or SHEA Water.
