Staff Software Engineer (Networking)

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Networking): Developing complex packet forwarding features and maintaining high-performance networking software with an accent on IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, and EVPN-VxLAN protocols. Focus on debugging complex microkernel/Linux issues, optimizing datapath performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve critical field issues.

Location: Hybrid role, requires working on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What you will do

• Translate customer requirements into robust software designs for networking products.
• Develop complex packet forwarding features including IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, EVPN-VxLAN, and firewall filters.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex issues within microkernel and Linux environments.
• Drive technical innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to address complex architectural problems.
• Assist in resolving high-priority customer issues reported from the field.
• Maintain and enhance existing networking features.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE from a reputed institution.
• Strong background in Networking and product development cycles.
• Excellent programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with multi-core software architectures.
• Strong record of delivering high-quality software projects on time.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with datapath ASICs such as Broadcom, Mellanox, Innovium, or Barefoot.
• Experience with software development for routers and switches.
