What you will do

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain Layer 2, network management, monitoring, and security features using C, C++, and Python.
• Write functional specifications based on requirements from customers, product managers, and field engineers.
• Author test plans and build automated tests and infrastructure to validate features.
• Collaborate with support engineers and customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Work with System Test Engineers to analyze bugs and provide software fixes.

Requirements

• Must be based in or authorized to work in Austin, TX, USA.
• BS in CS/EE/CE with 6+ years of experience, MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Proficiency in C or C++ and Python.
• Professional software development experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 protocols (802.1X, MACsec, LACP, STP) or network management protocols (AAA, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SFlow, IPFIX).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement features independently.
