What you will do

• Lead end-to-end product development and production support for switch software solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy software leveraging SONiC to interface with hardware components.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize hardware-software interactions and expose hardware capabilities.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to development teams on software engineering and networking concepts.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities between software, hardware, QA, and systems integration teams.
• Engage with open-source SONiC communities and align deliverables with business objectives.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, California, United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in networking switch product development or similar roles.
• Experience with Linux or similar networking operating systems and programming in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of packet forwarding, operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture.
• Experience with open-source networking stacks (FRR, Quagga) and network operating systems like SONiC.

Nice to have

• Experience with network protocols including EVPN VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM, and Layer 2 networking concepts.
• Experience working with switching chips such as Broadcom (XGS) and Marvell.
• Proven ability to implement features based on networking drafts and RFCs.
