What you will do

• Lead photo shoot production for features, well features, covers, and special projects, including commissioning teams, liaising with vendors, and staying on budget and schedule.
• Develop digital-first photo strategies and support visual direction for print-to-web production; secure multimedia and video assets for digital crops, social, BTS, and videos.
• Review portfolios, build relationships with agencies and photographers, and curate photographer lists; create visual mood boards.
• Own production documentation (timelines, schedules, budgets, shot-lists, call sheets) and proactively communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate on set by leading crews through shot lists, problem-solving during shoots, and ensuring execution of visual direction.
• Coordinate across editorial, design, social, video, web design, and production; manage portrait and video studio production for major events and festivals, including travel as needed.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in photo/visual production and photo editing; magazine experience strongly preferred, with a growing network of contacts (agencies, photographers, stylists, studios).
• Experience leading complex, talent-based editorial shoots and navigating strong personalities with grace.
• Strong editorial judgment and demonstrated ability to develop visual stories across platforms with a detailed understanding of platform requirements.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator; able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Ability to travel for assignments and shoots.
