Project Manager (Fintech)

TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan. Role requires at least 3 days per week in-office and full working rights in Japan (citizenship or permanent residency required).

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end project delivery for system implementations and upgrades, ensuring on-time execution.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Partner with clients and internal teams across time zones to align requirements and resolve issues.
• Manage project profitability across various engagement models including T&M and Fixed Price.
• Mentor and develop project teams to foster collaboration and excellence.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in project management delivering capital markets solutions.
• Must have Japanese citizenship or permanent residency to work in Tokyo.
• Strong ability to manage client relationships and lead cross-functional teams in matrixed environments.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and delivery management platforms.
• Experience managing multi-location teams and onsite/offshore delivery models.
• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Project Management Certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent).
• Experience implementing front or back office systems for banks, hedge funds, or asset managers.
• Background in business or systems analysis and solution design.
