TL;DR
Project Manager (Fintech): Leading end-to-end system implementations and upgrades for major capital markets clients with an accent on project profitability, governance, and cross-functional team leadership. Focus on managing complex client relationships and delivering high-impact solutions within a matrixed, hybrid environment.
Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan. Role requires at least 3 days per week in-office and full working rights in Japan (citizenship or permanent residency required).

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for system implementations and upgrades, ensuring on-time execution.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Partner with clients and internal teams across time zones to align requirements and resolve issues.
- Manage project profitability across various engagement models including T&M and Fixed Price.
- Mentor and develop project teams to foster collaboration and excellence.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in project management delivering capital markets solutions.
- Must have Japanese citizenship or permanent residency to work in Tokyo.
- Strong ability to manage client relationships and lead cross-functional teams in matrixed environments.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and delivery management platforms.
- Experience managing multi-location teams and onsite/offshore delivery models.
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Project Management Certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent).
- Experience implementing front or back office systems for banks, hedge funds, or asset managers.
- Background in business or systems analysis and solution design.
