Operations Representative (Banking)

Location: Hybrid work at 483 Bay Street in Toronto; current work authorization for Canada is required.

Salary: CAD 49,000–76,000 annual base salary, plus a discretionary performance bonus.

Fidelity Clearing Canada provides trade execution, clearing, custody, and back-office support services to Canadian brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.

What you will do

• Process incoming and outgoing funds, including margin calls, collateral cash requirements, netting requirements, and new issue closing deals.
• Book EFTs, deposits, wires, cheques, and other daily bank transactions while maintaining accurate wire templates and payment files.
• Perform daily and monthly bank and control account reconciliations for Canadian, USD, and FX accounts, resolving unmatched items and rejected transactions.
• Coordinate with Operations, Credit, Compliance, Finance, brokers, banks, vendors, and clients to resolve payment, receipt, and banking-system queries.
• Maintain Kyriba GL and budget-code mappings, review billing files, upload positive bank files, and coordinate trade settlement instructions in Bloomberg.
• Respond to audit inquiries, investigate bank-statement adjustments, identify process improvements, and deliver timely customer support.

Requirements

• Current authorization to work in Canada is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services, preferably in banking.
• Reconciliation experience is required.
• Three-year post-secondary education, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of economic markets, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Bloomberg knowledge.
• CTP certification, an accounting designation, or equivalent qualification.
