Principal Engineer, Customer Quality (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Virtual - United States of America; up to 25% travel

Salary: $123,100–$190,780 per year, depending on location, skills, knowledge, and experience

What you will do

• Act as the primary customer contact for quality communications, complaints, quality reviews, and issue-resolution updates.
• Represent the customer internally and coordinate factories, engineering, sales and marketing, technical teams, and external customers.
• Establish global customer quality standards and manage customer-specific requirements across products, manufacturing, and operations.
• Facilitate product change notifications and support timely implementation of product and process changes.
• Organize customer audits and demonstrate Quality Management System compliance and effectiveness.
• Lead Quality Improvement Plans, quality performance reviews, product inquiries, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, complex electrical or mechanical assemblies, and global manufacturing operations.
• Understanding of quality systems and standards including ISO 9000, IATF 16949, VDA, and ISO 13485.
• Knowledge of 8D problem solving, requirements management, change management, safe launch procedures, and product or process transfers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills, with advanced MS Office knowledge.

• Audit experience in automotive or medical standards.
