Senior Complex Claims Specialist (MPL): Managing mid to high severity Miscellaneous Professional Liability claims from inception to resolution with an accent on coverage evaluation, negotiation, and litigation strategy. Focus on adjudicating complex claims, mentoring team members, and driving positive outcomes through expert investigation and dispute resolution.
Location: Must be based in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Manhattan, NY; or West Hartford, CT. This position is hybrid and requires working in-office a minimum of two (2) days per week.
Salary: $140,000–$170,000

What you will do
- Handle mid to high severity Miscellaneous Professional Liability claims from inception to resolution.
- Independently evaluate coverage, severity, and draft complex technical coverage analyses.
- Lead litigation strategy, including participation in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Mentor team members and develop training content for claims staff and underwriters.
- Identify emerging exposure trends and suspected fraudulent claims in collaboration with the Special Investigations Unit.
- Maintain claim file quality and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of claims handling experience within Specialty lines, preferably Professional Liability.
- Expert knowledge of coverage, litigation processes, and negotiation strategies.
- Proven ability to manage defense counsel and lead litigation strategy.
- Adjuster licensing required (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with advanced analytical capabilities.
- Proven track record of mentoring and training others.
