What you will do
- Lead validation pricing and provide monthly client cost advice based on validation surveys, including commentary on cost movements, risks, opportunities, and recovery positions.
- Own planning application workstreams: procurement, payments, client claiming, and forecasting (cost-to-complete and cash forecasts) in line with contract terms.
- Compile and maintain open book reconciliation and audit information, run live monthly reconciliation via the live data sheet, and escalate unrecovered costs/claims.
- Act as sole QS for Planned Maintenance Leaseholder Recovery, managing commercial activities cradle-to-grave including procurement through yearly close out, and producing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Manage subcontract and supply chain commercial activities: enquiries, quotation analysis, subcontract applications/payments, and challenge/verify subcontractor claims to protect margins.
- Deliver monthly cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and cash projections; monitor budgets and recovery performance and support commercial reviews with accurate data.
Requirements
- Proven Quantity Surveyor experience in construction with strong experience in social housing, maintenance, or planned works.
- Strong experience in cost validation, reconciliation, forecasting, and cash management.
- Experience administering subcontractor payments, claims, and cost recovery processes.
- Advanced Excel skills for data interrogation and reconciliation, including live cost tracking spreadsheets.
- Strong understanding of cost coding, allocation controls, and audit trail requirements.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying (or similar) desirable; CSCS card at appropriate level (where required); valid driving licence if travel is required.
