What you will do

• Lead evaluation and implementation of design changes for mass-produced products to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Conduct deep-dive investigations into field failures and manufacturing yield issues using data-driven root cause analysis.
• Partner with suppliers and JDM/OEM partners to optimize manufacturing processes for plastic injection and metal stamping.
• Identify and execute Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) opportunities.
• Act as the mechanical lead in sustaining activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Quality, Procurement, EE, and Firmware.
• Maintain and update 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or sustaining engineering for high-volume consumer electronics.
• Proficiency in Creo or Pro/E CAD software.
• Deep understanding of plastic injection molding, metal stamping, and surface finishing.
• Strong knowledge of tolerance analysis, GD&T, DFM, and DFA.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.

Nice to have

• Experience working with JDM/OEM partners in China or Southeast Asia.
• Familiarity with simulation tools like FEA and Moldflow.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and eco-friendly materials.
