What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical direction for key product areas in a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL/gRPC) to power data-intensive experiences.
• Partner with data scientists and MLOps teams to embed AI/ML capabilities like LLM-powered workflows and automated insights.
• Lead technical design reviews and cross-team architecture discussions to ensure system scalability and resilience.
• Champion operational excellence through monitoring, logging, and incident response leadership.
• Mentor senior engineers and define engineering standards for code quality, testing, and observability.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping complex, user-facing SaaS products.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend stack (Node.js/TypeScript, Java, Go, or Rust).
• Experience with Python and data analysis/modeling tools (e.g., pandas, pytorch).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with ML/AI concepts, including model deployment, latency considerations, and safety guardrails.
