What you will do

• Manage the organization and operational capability of the Advanced Technology laboratory.
• Set up experimental assemblies and conduct research on optical transmission systems and distributed fiber sensing.
• Support team members in selecting devices and designing experimental setups.
• Ensure reliable measurements through calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Implement and maintain laser safety measures.
• Contribute to national and international research projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Fluent written and oral English language skills.
• Strong programming skills focused on laboratory automation.
• Solid knowledge of optical transmission technologies and fiber effects.
• Proven laboratory experience in optical sub-system and system characterization.
• Innovative and application-oriented mindset.

Nice to have

• Fluency in German.
• Experience with coherent optical transmission and optical modulation.
• Knowledge of optical amplification and switching.
• Experience in signal quality monitoring for optical networks.
