What you will do

• Lead a team of 5-7 engineers in designing and operating full-stack web applications processing millions of daily transactions.
• Own end-to-end delivery, including roadmap planning, execution, and operational excellence.
• Coach and grow senior engineers, creating opportunities for career advancement and promotion.
• Drive hands-on architectural decisions regarding vendor integrations, system resilience, and data accuracy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, and compliance teams to shape the roadmap.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading teams of 5+.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in web services, cloud infrastructure, and system design.
• Proven track record of hiring, retaining, and growing engineering talent.
• Experience operating high-reliability, consumer-facing web applications.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Background as a Senior/Staff Engineer designing distributed systems in production.
• Familiarity with payment systems, financial infrastructure, or e-commerce platforms.
• Experience with Go, React, or AWS services.
