Funding Consultant

TL;DR

Funding Consultant: Managing the intake, submission, and follow-up of assistive technology orders with an accent on navigating complex third-party payer criteria and insurance regulations. Focus on advocating for clients, resolving funding denials, and coordinating effectively with SLPs and government agencies to ensure timely equipment authorization.

Location: Remote (US), must be based in the Pacific, Mountain, or Hawaii time zones. Ability to travel to the Pittsburgh office for team activities/trainings (approx. 4 times per year) is required.

Salary: $24/hr (approx. $4,800/month)

What you will do

• Coordinate the intake, submission, and follow-up of new product, repair, and equipment rental orders.
• Communicate with SLPs, insurance providers, and government agencies to verify eligibility and obtain authorizations.
• Review prior authorization documents against third-party payer criteria to ensure compliance.
• Serve as a client advocate by troubleshooting funding problems and managing co-payment requirements.
• Resolve third-party denials and provide consultation to finalize difficult funding cases.
• Maintain accurate records in the order management system database.

Requirements

• Must reside in the Pacific, Mountain, or Hawaii time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree or 2–4 years of related experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with a customer service orientation.
• Proficiency in internet navigation and MS Office (Word, Outlook).
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Background in the health insurance field is preferred.
