TL;DR

Application Engineer (AI): Developing high-reliability power protection solutions for AI and data centre server racks with an accent on 48V power distribution architectures and MOSFET characterization. Focus on designing and validating hot-swap protection and eFuse implementations to support hyperscale computing market growth.

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Stockport, UK (Hybrid arrangement).

What you will do

  • Design, debug, and validate hot-swap protection and eFuse implementations for high-density rack systems.
  • Perform detailed MOSFET Safe Operating Area (SOA) characterization and thermal validation.
  • Create technical literature, demo boards, and reference models for 48V power distribution systems.
  • Define new product specifications based on customer inputs and market trends.
  • Provide expert technical support to global sales teams and customers to resolve complex power delivery challenges.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a relevant discipline.
  • Legal right to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship.
  • Proven expertise in circuit simulation (e.g., SIMPLIS, LTspice, PSpice) and PCB design.
  • Willingness to travel globally to technology hubs (e.g., USA/Asia) on short notice.
  • Passion for AI infrastructure or Data Centre power systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with 48V distribution, OR-ing FETs, and high-current MOSFET switching.
  • Knowledge of Server Power Supplies (CRPS) and AI Accelerators.
  • Advanced simulation skills including FEA, SPICE modeling, and thermal analysis.
