TL;DR

Software Test Engineer I (Medtech): Defining and executing software validation test plans for insulin delivery systems with an accent on automated test script creation and CI/CD integration. Focus on ensuring product reliability, debugging complex issues, and maintaining compliance with medical device specifications.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Del Mar, CA (Hybrid: 2-3 days/week in-office)

Salary: $39.23/hr to $43.27/hr

What you will do

  • Develop and implement software validation test plans for medical device software.
  • Create and review automated test scripts to expedite execution and improve test coverage.
  • Work with CI systems to ensure tests remain functional across multiple builds and releases.
  • Perform and document software test audits in compliance with established procedures.
  • Assist R&D engineering in the diagnosis, replication, and resolution of product failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align testing processes with documented specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in EE, CS, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, C, or C#).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI systems.
  • Familiarity with test frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine, Mocha, or Appium.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
