Network Reliability Engineer (Go/Python)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas, United States. An in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub may be required at the offer stage.

What you will do

• Engineer and operate hirify.global’s core data center network, including hardware, software, installation, planning, and day-to-day operations.
• Build software solutions that improve network resilience and reduce operational toil.
• Develop tools to automate operational tasks and streamline network deployment processes.
• Create a scalable platform that enables other engineering teams to build on top of network capabilities.
• Contribute to system design and take solutions from initial concept through production.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant network or site reliability engineering experience.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with configuration management frameworks such as SaltStack, Ansible, or Chef.
• Experience with network operating systems including NX-OS, JUNOS, EOS, Cumulus, or SONiC.
• Solid Linux systems administration and Linux networking experience, including iproute2, Traffic Control, or Devlink.
• Strong software development skills in Go and Python, with the ability to use LLMs for agentic deployment, troubleshooting, configuration automation, log parsing, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of BGP and other routing protocols.
• Experience with Airflow, Temporal, FRR, Bird, or GoBGP.
• Experience with bare-metal switching, network programming in C, C++, or Rust, and Linux kernel or software packaging.
• Experience building tooling and automation, including Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, ClickHouse, Kubernetes, Docker, or Consul.
