Instructional Coach, Math

What you will do

• Support educators on-site up to four days per week, with the fifth day dedicated to planning and preparation.
• Lead classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers and leaders.
• Conduct model lessons and co-teach alongside classroom teachers.
• Provide office hours for leaders and teachers and support unit/lesson planning with grade-level teams.
• Lead lesson study cycles and cultivate model classrooms to replicate best practices.
• Analyze student work and formative assessment data to guide instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of 6–8 math teaching experience with demonstrable student results.
• Experience leading sustained coaching engagements and professional development for educators in K–5 or 6–8.
• Experience guiding educator teams through change management processes.
• Experience supporting HQIM implementation with diverse learners, including Students with IEPS and English Language Learners, using research-based math practices.
• Ability to travel locally across New York City up to 4 days per week to support educators.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated proficiency with Google Applications.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of New York City’s Mathematics Shifts.
• Experience teaching or supporting Desmos Math and knowledge of hirify.global Desmos Math.
• Experience analyzing data to inform practice.
• Ability to support teachers in a remote learning environment, if needed.
• Fluent Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education.
