QNX Senior Quality Manager (Embedded Software)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $96,000–$126,000 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Variable Incentive Pay program.

What you will do

• Improve the QNX Quality Management System and Cybersecurity Management System while supporting ISO 9001 and ISO/SAE 21434 certification.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote quality and safety practices across engineering and product development.
• Plan, conduct, and document audits, gap analyses, compliance reviews, and process assessments.
• Maintain compliance evidence and end-to-end traceability from requirements through design, implementation, verification, validation, and release.
• Support certification bodies, regulators, customers, suppliers, and external auditors, including customer-facing audits.
• Advise engineering teams on standards interpretation, process compliance, audit readiness, and certification requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in software process and quality management for embedded software, preferably in a safety-critical industry.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and at least one of ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 61508, IEC 62304, ASPICE, SEI-CMMI, or DO-178C.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, configuration management, requirements management, traceability, and process quality assurance.
• Experience conducting internal and external audits and supporting certification activities.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, attention to detail, and influencing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, quality management, applied mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Software engineering experience in requirements, design, development, testing, or systems engineering.
• Experience with process modeling, quality measurement, and traceability management in functional safety environments.
• Lean Six Sigma certification, root cause analysis, 5D, or 8D experience.
• Experience with JAMA, Jira, GitHub, and Confluence.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASPICE assessor, or TÜV Functional Safety Engineer certification.
