Sr. Systems Engineer I (IoT)

What you will do

• Define and document system and subsystem requirements, workflows, and stakeholder needs.
• Oversee data flows from medical devices through BLE, cellular, and Wi-Fi connectivity into cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain system architecture documents, models, and system-level traceability matrices.
• Review software specifications, design documentation, verification and validation strategies, test protocols, reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Support risk management, field complaint investigations, design transfer, and software deployment.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, Product/UX, Labeling, Human Factors, Product Security, and regulatory stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree; candidates with a master’s degree or PhD may qualify with less experience.
• Experience defining requirements and data flows for iOS or Android applications connected to IoT hardware.
• Experience with standards compliance and risk management.
• Technical fluency for collaboration with software and firmware developers.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaMD or SiMD and medical device standards such as FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 60601-1.
• Familiarity with MQTT, CoAP, or HTTPS.
• Experience with Jama, Polarion, DOORS, INCOSE/EARS, SysML, or UML.
