TL;DR
Senior Systems Engineer (Medical Devices): Designing and verifying next-generation renal denervation medical device systems with an accent on system requirements, architecture, electronics, embedded software, and multidisciplinary development. Focus on creating integration and verification test suites, defining interfaces across software, firmware, hardware, and mechanical systems, and driving complex design trade-offs within a regulated environment.

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum four days per week onsite.

Salary: $110,400–$165,600 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

  • Create and execute test suites for integration and verification of system design functions.
  • Resolve complex system interaction problems related to coronary artery disease and renal denervation.
  • Define complete system and interface requirements across software, firmware, hardware, and mechanical systems.
  • Design or support systems architecture for next-generation medical devices.
  • Lead or support design trade-offs, present recommendations to project management, and drive timely technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, mechanical, research, clinical, regulatory, product planning, marketing, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience integrating and verifying system design functions; alternatively, an advanced degree with two years of experience or a PhD with no experience.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles, requirements management, task management, and product development life cycles.
  • For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

  • Medical device industry experience and experience developing and testing complex medical device systems.
  • Experience with verification protocols, test methods, QMS requirements, and medical device regulations.
  • Experience with IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, Model-Based Systems Engineering, or secure-by-design principles.
  • Basic software development and computer programming knowledge.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship-building and communication skills.
