What you will do

• Report on public safety and spot news while pursuing investigative and enterprise stories.
• Pitch original story ideas and research topics with high accuracy.
• Cultivate sources both in-person and through social media channels.
• Write clean, engaging copy with SEO-friendly headlines under tight deadlines.
• Serve as a night editor for the news group on weekends.
• Maintain consistent communication with supervising editors and collaborate with the news team.

Requirements

• Must reside within 30 miles of, or be willing to relocate to, the Inland Empire area.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong news judgment and ability to handle high-stakes beats.
• Proficiency in using web and social media tools for reporting.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
• Must be available for night and weekend shifts.
