What you will do

• Collaborate with technology leaders to develop and execute comprehensive patent strategies.
• Handle utility patent preparation and prosecution, including drafting applications and coordinating with external counsel.
• Serve as the primary IP point-of-contact for designated business units.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex IP-related agreements, including development and licensing contracts.
• Conduct IP due diligence for business transactions and provide freedom-to-operate legal opinions.
• Manage intellectual property disputes and provide ongoing training to internal staff.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and a state bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in intellectual property law.
• Strong background in patent prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic IP planning.
• Technical background in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering/chemistry preferred.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Expertise in the use and counseling for artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
