Location: Hybrid in Coppell, TX, USA (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

What you will do

  • Lead the global management of the patent portfolio, overseeing outside counsel for drafting, prosecuting, and filing applications across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop and execute patent strategies aligned with business objectives, product roadmaps, and technology development.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and R&D teams to identify patentable innovations.
  • Manage the full patent lifecycle, including invention disclosures, portfolio reviews, and maintenance fees.
  • Monitor global intellectual property law developments and provide guidance on risk posture.
  • Contribute to IP risk management, including competitor monitoring and landscape analysis.

Requirements

  • 5-9 years of legal experience in patent prosecution and portfolio management.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Licensed to practice before the USPTO.
  • Experience managing domestic and international outside patent counsel.
  • Background in hardware, software, or emerging technology patents.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited university.
