Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Salary: CAD 139,000–156,500

What you will do

• Identify opportunities to leverage data for groundbreaking healthcare solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement AI solutions.
• Apply machine learning algorithms, including LLMs and NLP, to unlock insights from unstructured medical data.
• Build robust, data-driven solutions that address significant healthcare challenges.
• Design and build scalable data pipelines to ensure data quality and accessibility.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience applying advanced machine learning and AI techniques to clinical data.
• Direct experience working with LLMs and prompt optimization technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and lead projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with software engineering principles and production deployment.
• Experience developing transformer-based deep learning algorithms using TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience working with clinical subject matter experts.
