What you will do

• Own firmware projects from concept through release, including scoping, architecture, and implementation.
• Guide firmware-side cybersecurity decisions, including secure boot, cryptographic design, and FOTA strategies.
• Develop high-quality firmware for resource-constrained, MCU-based systems.
• Lead root cause investigations for complex issues across firmware, hardware, and system interactions.
• Define and evolve firmware interfaces with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and QA.
• Mentor junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of hands-on firmware development experience in resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in C for embedded systems.
• Experience working in a regulated industry (medical device experience preferred).
• Proven ability to own firmware projects from architecture through release.
• Working knowledge of embedded cybersecurity principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr RTOS, device tree, and driver development.
• Familiarity with wireless technologies like BLE or cellular connectivity.
• Experience with coding standards such as MISRA and static/dynamic code analysis.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 standards.
