What you will do

  • Support business units day-to-day to identify, monitor, and evaluate risk; independently guide completion of risk program requirements.
  • Lead and challenge risk events/issues to determine root cause, impact, and remediation plans/actions.
  • Drive Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs): plan scope coverage, assist completion, and perform thorough review and effective challenge.
  • Independently execute and coordinate control testing, including assessing control design and operating effectiveness and documenting results.
  • Conduct deep-dive risk assessments for high-risk areas and critical functions; recommend improvements and remediation.
  • Consolidate risk information, analyze trends, and deliver regular reporting to senior management and 2nd line risk using digitalization/visualization.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant risk/operational risk experience required.
  • Experience in the financial services industry required.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business processes required.
  • Strong communication skills to present regularly to senior management required.
  • Proficiency in data analytics techniques and relevant data analysis experience required.
  • Completion of a University degree required, or equivalent work experience.
  • Work authorization for Canada is required.
