What you will do
- Convene and lead GPA’s Health R&D bilateral financing coordinating group to prioritize opportunities and set collaboration cadence.
- Serve as an expert on select deal teams: shape opportunities, size financing needs, define capital structures, support outreach, negotiate terms, and help secure partnerships.
- Support strategic engagement with potential co-investors and help structure R&D financing (capital stacks, guarantees, concessional tranches, first-loss solutions).
- Translate technical profiles of health innovations into funder-facing narratives, KPIs, and investment cases; standardize deal templates and materials.
- Develop internal business cases (use-of-funds, costings, ROI/impact framing, risk analysis) and prepare briefs for leadership.
- Coordinate across matrixed stakeholders (technical leads, regional/country teams, philanthropic partnerships, resource mobilization hub) to ensure alignment and feasibility.
Requirements
- Deep experience in financial strategy, partnership development, and/or funder engagement in matrixed settings focused on health R&D.
- Proven deal-structuring expertise (e.g., capital stacks, blended instruments, guarantees, catalytic capital).
- Track record managing or supporting complex structured financing deals involving bilateral donors, MDBs/DFIs, blended finance, and/or major philanthropic transactions.
- Experience coordinating with legal and finance teams through planning and negotiations.
- Ability to translate technical program requirements into funder-relevant investment cases and KPI frameworks.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization in the country where this position is located; the Foundation does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.
