What you will do

• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to approve risk selection, coverage, and pricing for large, complex life insurance applications.
• Evaluate medical and financial risks, including those involving chronic illness riders.
• Resolve complex underwriting issues while ensuring adherence to company objectives and standards.
• Participate in business planning and department initiatives to improve productivity, profitability, and growth.
• Review and sign off on referrals from other underwriters and assist in training team members.
• Collaborate with field and home office partners to provide high-quality service.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 7-10 years of professional underwriting experience.
• College degree or equivalent work experience in life underwriting.
• Professional designations including FLMI, FALU, and ACS (or current coursework toward them).
• Strong knowledge of insurance contract law, state legislative requirements, and reinsurance marketplace.
• Expertise in medical science, technology, and financial underwriting factors.
