TL;DR

Salary: $82,300 - $220,000

What you will do

  • Develop and characterize organ-specific micro-physiological (MPS) and organ-on-chip models for toxicity and disease studies.
  • Plan and lead in vitro technical experiments in a BSL-2 laboratory environment.
  • Perform molecular, biochemical, and cellular assays including immunostaining, flow cytometry, and qPCR.
  • Acquire and analyze high-content confocal microscopy data using automated pipelines.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to execute project plans and mentor junior bioengineers.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including technical ideation and proposal writing for government sponsors.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Cambridge, MA
  • Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field required; PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Bioengineering or related engineering fields.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Proficiency in mammalian tissue culture and in vitro assay development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, milestone-driven environment.

Nice to have

  • Proven expertise in microfluidic-based cell and tissue culture platforms.
  • Experience with complex co-culture models and iPSC-derived tissues.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven cell painting and bioinformatics pipelines (R/Python).
  • Experience securing external funding or writing R&D proposals for government contracts.
