Salary: $188,000–$250,000 USD per year across Levels V and VI.

What you will do

  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of flight controls software for Group 1–4 UAS.
  • Architect and implement advanced software components for flight testing.
  • Oversee high-fidelity Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations.
  • Develop and optimize complex Matlab/Simulink models and perform stability and performance analyses.
  • Lead research into advanced flight control methods, embedded systems, and auto-code generation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, coordinate across engineering disciplines, and lead technical documentation and peer reviews.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of flight controls engineering experience, including at least 5 years working with UAS applications.
  • Expertise in Matlab/Simulink, embedded auto-code generation, control theory, flight dynamics, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with state estimation, Kalman filtering, and SWIL/HWIL simulation analysis.
  • Knowledge of Group 1–4 UAS flight controls and avionics suites.
  • Strong technical leadership, project management, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of advanced control techniques and optimization algorithms.
  • Contributions to successful flight-test programs and R&D projects.
