TL;DR

Senior Analog Layout Manager: Leading analog layout design and managing a team of layout designers for advanced SerDes and Analog Mixed-Signal IPs with an accent on schedule/risk management, hands-on macro-level layout, and cross-functional synchronization. Focus on LVS/DRC/ERC debugging using Calibre reports and building a world-class analog layout organization from initial chip planning through tape-out.

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary: $138,200–$204,460 per annum (base pay range, USD)

What you will do

  • Hire and lead a team of analog layout designers.
  • Assess schedules, floor plans, and risks for digital macros; perform hands-on macro-level layout work.
  • Manage and track layout schedules, including hiring additional designers as needed.
  • Identify and prioritize project tasks and risks; plan workarounds to meet or exceed layout schedules.
  • Coordinate with CAD, tech, and circuit design teams to align layout schedules with overall project plans.
  • Interpret complex layout design concepts and communicate issues cross-functionally.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of analog layout design experience and 3+ years of management experience.
  • Deep understanding of layout methodology from initial chip planning through tape-out.
  • High proficiency in LVS, DRC debugging, and interpreting CALIBRE DRC/ ERC/ LVS reports.
  • Proficiency with Synopsys or Cadence layout entry tools; programming skills in Skill, Ample, or Perl are a plus.
  • Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution and consensus building.
