What you will do

  • Lead and enforce facility safety and health programs to minimize job-related risks.
  • Conduct safety observations, audits, and incident investigations to identify root causes.
  • Educate employees on safety standards and coordinate on-site equipment certifications.
  • Manage contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Coordinate annual medical surveillance, industrial hygiene sampling, and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Prepare and deliver safety training programs across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, or science preferred.
  • At least three years of safety experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably power plants or energy-from-waste facilities.
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA 1910 and local safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends on a non-routine basis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
