Application Architect, Medical Imaging

What you will do

• Define technical requirements and translate business features into specifications, architectural enablers, and traceable design decisions.
• Design scalable, multi-tenant cloud-native SaaS platforms with microservices, auto-scaling, load balancing, distributed computing, and API-first services.
• Architect AI/ML integration for medical image analysis, including computer vision, deep learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and real-time or batch DICOM and NIfTI processing.
• Design integrations with medical image viewers, PACS, clinical trial management systems, and electronic data capture platforms.
• Architect data, security, monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for large-scale clinical imaging workloads.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, mentoring, code reviews, technology selection, and collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive architecture experience delivering complex cloud-native SaaS platforms at enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise in medical imaging, including DICOM, DICOMweb, DICOM networking, HL7 FHIR, PACS integration, image processing, anonymization, and viewer technologies.
• Experience integrating AI/ML solutions and MLOps practices into production medical imaging platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services, serverless and containerized architectures, APIs, microservices, databases, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Experience with regulated software development and validation, including FDA, GxP, ISO 13485, HIPAA, quality management systems, audit trails, electronic signatures, and data integrity controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or C#, strong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills, and a relevant bachelor's degree or higher.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Cloud platform certifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Medical device software development training or certification.
