Senior Procurement Specialist (HVP)

TL;DR

Senior Procurement Specialist (HVP): Lead and manage the end-to-end subcontract procurement lifecycle up to contract execution for a major EPC-style project, with an immediate focus on the Highview Power project at Carrington. Focus on NEC4 subcontract drafting and negotiation, ITT development and tendering, and challenging scopes/specifications and risk allocation prior to award.

What you will do

• Lead procurement activities from pre-contract award through contract execution for multiple subcontract packages.
• Develop subcontract strategy, translate client head contract obligations (primarily NEC4) into subcontract Works Information and commercial terms, and issue ITTs.
• Run the tender process including commercial clarifications, interface with Engineering/Quality/HSE, and tender evaluation and recommendation.
• Finalize and negotiate NEC4 subcontracts (Z-clauses/Special Conditions, amendments to standard terms, works information alignment, payment mechanisms, milestones, and liabilities).
• Recommend preferred subcontractors based on best value, risk profile, and deliverability; conduct subcontract kick-off meetings and hand over executed contracts to the Project Commercial team/Senior QS.
• Provide limited post-award procurement-led support (e.g., pricing compensation events/variations) while focusing on awarding subsequent packages per the live Procurement Plan.

Requirements

• Onsite in Carrington (M31 4AY), UK.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience creating, negotiating, and awarding NEC3/NEC4 subcontracts in a live project environment.
• Strong understanding of contract strategy, Works Information development, and risk allocation.
• Proven senior project procurement/subcontracting experience awarding multiple complex packages concurrently under programme and cost pressure.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and C&I subcontract packages and multidiscipline construction/installation scopes.
• Knowledge of SAP procurement systems and CIPS membership (essential).
