Sr. Engineer, Cloud Native (Cybersecurity): Architecting and building next-generation AI Detection and Response services to process millions of security events per second with an accent on high-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architecture. Focus on designing scalable microservices, managing petabytes of critical AI data, and ensuring system reliability under heavy traffic.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid: 2-3 days per week on-site)

Salary: $140,000 - $215,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement highly scalable microservices and platform components.
• Develop comprehensive tests focusing on reliability, accuracy, and performance.
• Conduct thorough code and design reviews with a focus on testability, security, and scalability.
• Integrate services within the existing ecosystem and APIs.
• Drive root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive measures.
• Mentor team members on secure coding practices and cloud-native development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience in building enterprise-grade products.
• 5+ years of experience in developing microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, distributed systems).
• Expertise in at least one cloud-native language: Go, Python, or Java.
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures, REST/gRPC APIs, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Must be able to pass background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity or security-focused products.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML security challenges and mitigation strategies.
• Experience with real-time data processing systems like Kafka or Pulsar.
• Hands-on experience with OCI, GCP, or Azure.
