Defensive Security Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Washington, D.C.; on-site at the Georgetown office. On-call staff must be able to commute to the office within one hour.

Salary: $145,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Build, operate, and own SOC infrastructure and automation for detecting, containing, and eradicating security threats.
• Develop alerting, detection, and defensive strategies for malicious or anomalous behavior and evolving adversary tactics.
• Conduct enterprise-wide threat hunting, host and network forensics, log analysis, and malware triage.
• Support incident response and digital forensics by capturing and preserving logs, volatile memory, and physical or virtual disk images.
• Analyze artifacts from multiple operating systems and applications and use common forensic and incident response tools.
• Prepare technical and executive reports and collaborate with the Information Security team on network defense changes.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance required.
• Established experience operating in a SOC environment through relevant experience or qualifications.
• Programming or scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining a SIEM.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures, particularly AWS.
• Ability to learn new technologies and train others in forensic and incident response techniques and tools.
