Salary: $168,300 - $207,900

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable backend services handling millions of transactions reliably.
• Own the full development lifecycle from high-level design to deployment and debugging.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code optimized for readability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Frontend, SRE) to deliver customer value fast.
• Lead code reviews, mentor 2–3 engineers, and drive engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production performance bottlenecks and influence platform architecture.

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of experience scaling backend systems in fast-paced product teams.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
• Expertise in Data Structures, Algorithms, and REST APIs.
• Strong command of OOP principles and SOLID design patterns.
• Proven ability in System Design (HLD & LLD) for highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Must be based in San Mateo, CA for a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office).
