Product Manager (Local Government)

TL;DR

Product Manager (Local Government / GovTech): Managing product areas for Revenues & Benefits and Citizen Access for the UK public sector with an accent on Welfare Benefits and technical integrations with services like the DWP. Focus on translating complex legislative and customer requirements into actionable roadmaps and user journeys.

Location: Hybrid (UK). Must be based in the UK and able to work from the Bracknell office for the initial couple of weeks for training. Remote work is permitted for those living beyond 25 miles from an NEC SWS office.

What you will do

• Act as the product champion for Revenues & Benefits and Citizen Access products.
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with commercial opportunities and market drivers.
• Conduct user research and gather detailed business requirements and user journeys.
• Collaborate across business analysis, development, testing, and pre-sales teams.
• Provide product content and support for sales tenders and internal briefings.
• Produce guides and documentation for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
• Previous experience in the UK Public Sector with specific knowledge of local government services and Welfare Benefits.
• Understanding of system administration and technical integrations (e.g., DWP integration, batch processes).
• Ability to interpret legal, commercial, and technical literature.
• Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and dispute resolution.
