Senior Electrical Test Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; on-site field support is required for projects, outages, emergencies, mobile substations, and contractor sites.

What you will do

• Lead complex engineering assignments covering substation equipment, protective relaying systems, reclosers, regulators, capacitors, and related power-system equipment.
• Assess technician capabilities and establish training for equipment, testing procedures, relay commissioning, transformer testing, and protective relaying.
• Provide on-site technical, supervisory, and project support for substation work, contractor activities, mobile substation installations, outages, storms, and severe emergencies.
• Analyze test results and equipment trends, determine repair or replacement priorities, and recommend long-term maintenance plans.
• Evaluate new equipment, procedures, industry practices, and safety improvements; develop guides and training materials for the Test Department.
• Support transformer factory inspections and test witnessing, employee progression testing, technical reporting, and applicable computer software preparation.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related electrical engineering field.
• Seven to ten years of relevant experience.
• Experience with union environments and project management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
• Professional Engineer license preferred, or recognized subject-matter expertise.
• Employment is based in Dayton, Ohio, United States, with on-site and field response responsibilities.
