What you will do
- Act as the electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) across utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
- Review and validate electrical designs and studies (load flow, fault level, protection coordination) from consultants and EPC contractors.
- Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code, G99/G100, and DNO/TSO requirements.
- Provide technical support from project development through to commissioning and energization.
- Coordinate between internal teams, EPC contractors, DNOs/TSOs, and external advisors.
- Witness testing of substations and troubleshoot electrical issues during delivery and early operations.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the power or renewable energy sector.
- Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, or power infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of MV/HV systems, substations, and grid connection infrastructure.
- Familiarity with UK grid connection processes and standards (DNO/TSO, Grid Code, G99/G100).
- Experience in reviewing third-party electrical engineering deliverables and studies.
- Exposure to the commissioning and energization of electrical systems.
